St. James Church forms the Parish of New Brighton along with
Emmanuel Church.

The church is situated between Victoria Road and Albion Street. The main entrance to the Church is from Albion Street.
The Church was consecrated in 1856 and the first incumbent was Reverand Richard Drake Fowell. The Church has since had eleven Vicars; the current one being Reverand Canon Frank Cain. Please see the history section for more information about the Church's past.
We take particular pride in our high standard traditional four part harmony choir. Currently the choir consists of five supranos, two altos, four tenors and four basses. The Choir is supported by the organist Mr. J. Tennant and sings for one service each Sunday at 11:15am and once per month at Choral Evensong.
